The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently included skill subjects in the school curriculum with the aim of integrating 21st century skills into the educational systems. Apart from their core subjects, Class 11 students now have the opportunity to choose from around 43 elective subjects. These electives can be chosen as per the study plan provided by their respective schools.
The syllabus and study material for skill electives is available on the CBSE academic website under the section titled 'Skill Education'. Students can visit the official website of CBSE to check the list of electives offered by the board.
Skill subjects are designed to enhance the employability and entrepreneurial skills of the students. The newly introduced optional subjects include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Physical Activity Trainer, Land Transportation Associate, Electronics and Hardware and Design Thinking and Innovation.
The list is available in the Senior Secondary School, Curriculum 2024-25.
